Weekly vs. Twice-Weekly Dog Poop Cleanup: Which Fits Your Yard?
The right cleanup frequency is the one that leaves your household comfortable using the yard between visits. Weekly and twice-weekly plans both provide a recurring routine, but they create different gaps between cleanups and different total costs. Neither plan stops new waste from appearing after the team leaves.
Start with how your dogs and your household actually use the outdoor space, then compare the same scope at each frequency.
Look at the days between cleanups
A weekly visit gives the yard one scheduled cleanup each week. Twice-weekly service divides the work across two visits. The practical difference is how much time passes before waste that appears after one visit is picked up at the next.
Think about when the yard feels ready to use. Is a quick family pickup between weekly visits easy to manage? Or does buildup make the lawn less inviting well before the next visit? A smaller heavily used section may feel busy even when the property itself is large.
Dog count matters, but it is not the entire decision. Two dogs using a dedicated run create a different situation from two dogs spreading their time across several yard sections. Count the actual cleanup area consistently when comparing plans.
Compare the weekly total, not just the visit price
Purge Pros charges per visit. For the starting example of one dog, up to one-eighth acre and one service area, weekly service starts at $19.99 per visit. The equivalent twice-weekly starting rate is $15.99 per visit. Two $15.99 visits total $31.98 in a typical week with two visits.
That is why the lower per-visit number does not mean the twice-weekly plan costs less overall. Your actual rate depends on the selected dogs, area, sections and frequency. A month also does not always contain the same number of service visits. Our pricing guide explains what to compare.
Keep the initial cleanup separate
If waste has built up, distinguish that first cleanup from the ongoing maintenance rhythm. New recurring customers pay no start-up fee: the first cleanup is billed at the approved recurring visit price, with up to two hours (120 minutes) of cleanup included. The first visit is paid, and eligibility and household history still matter. One-time cleanups use separate terms.
Frequency should be chosen for the routine you want afterward, rather than just the first visit. Read the current service terms before agreeing to a plan.
Choose a starting plan and confirm the route
Review your dog count, serviced sections, between-visit expectations and weekly budget together. If your needs change, contact the team to discuss the new scope and available schedule; a new preference is not a confirmed route change.
Explore recurring dog waste removal, then check your ZIP and compare your prices. A supported ZIP starts the request. The team confirms the full address and service day separately.
