Going on Vacation? Questions to Settle About Yard Service
Travel changes how a yard is used. Your dogs may stay home with a sitter, come with you, or spend part of the trip elsewhere. Those are different situations for a recurring cleanup plan. A short conversation before leaving is more reliable than assuming the service schedule will change on its own.
Use these questions to coordinate the trip without creating a second signup or conflicting instructions.
Will the dogs still use the yard?
If the dogs stay home, the normal pickup need may continue. Tell the sitter about the planned cleanup and confirm the agreed pet arrangement while the team enters and works. If the dogs leave too, explain the dates and ask the service team what change, if any, makes sense.
Do not infer that an empty house means an empty yard. Existing buildup and the timing of the last cleanup are separate from whether dogs will be present during the trip.
Does someone else control access?
Give the sitter or household helper the correct entrance description, and make sure the cleanup team has any changed access details. Keep gate codes and precise instructions in the established private service channel.
A temporary lock or a new pet arrangement deserves explicit confirmation. Read the away-from-home guide for the underlying access plan, including why a completed-visit gate photo does not replace later household checks.
Are you requesting a pause or a different visit?
Tell the team what you want to change and wait for confirmation. A message requesting a different day is not a reserved route slot. Avoid assuming that a return from vacation guarantees your earlier weekday remains available if the service plan has been paused.
Purge Pros bills per visit, rather than a fixed monthly subscription. Discuss the specific scheduled visits and the agreed change so you understand what work is expected. Refer to the current service terms for the governing conditions.
What condition will the yard be in when you return?
If cleanup stops while dogs continue using the yard, waste can accumulate. That condition may need a restart or catch-up discussion before ordinary maintenance resumes. Returning service does not automatically make a household new again: the first cleanup with up to two hours included is once per household.
The returning-customer guide explains the distinction between a maintained yard and condition-based catch-up work. Be clear about the last thorough pickup and the present scope.
Keep one confirmation everyone can follow
Before departure, check the dates, access arrangement, pet location, responsible contact and any agreed service change. Share the relevant parts with the sitter. After returning, update anything that changed again.
For new service, explore dog waste removal and check your ZIP and price. For a trip affecting existing service, continue the existing service conversation so the team can review the correct property and visits.
