Dog-Friendly Backyard Party Prep: Start With the Lawn
When you are preparing for guests, dog waste pickup belongs near the start of the outdoor checklist. It is much easier to inspect an open lawn before chairs, games, coolers, and decorations cover the ground.
Several days before: decide where people and dogs will be
Walk the areas guests will actually use. Include the path from the house, the route to the gate, the lawn around games, and the edges where children may retrieve a ball.
Then decide where your dog will spend the gathering. A quiet indoor room or another agreed arrangement may be more workable than letting a dog move through an open gate as guests arrive. Choose what suits your pet and household; a cleanup service does not provide pet supervision.
Before setup: clear and inspect the lawn
Pick up visible waste before mowing or arranging furniture. Move lightweight toys and other small obstacles so you can see the ground, then inspect from more than one direction.
Check beneath the edges of outdoor furniture and along the fence. Those areas are easy to overlook when the center of the lawn looks tidy. If leaves or tall grass hide the ground, account for that extra yard work before the party date.

If hiring help: request the date early
Tell the provider when the gathering starts and which areas matter. Ask whether an available visit can fit the preparation schedule. An online quote or submitted request is not a guaranteed event-day appointment.
Purge Pros offers one-time cleanup for an individual visit, subject to availability. The current one-time rate is $89.99 for the first 30 minutes plus $1 per actual additional minute. One-time cleanups are priced on their own, separately from recurring service. Review current terms before choosing.
If you already have recurring service, ask about the schedule rather than assuming it can move for the event.
On the day: do a short final pass
Dogs may use the yard again after a professional cleanup. Before guests arrive, inspect the gathering areas, collect any new waste, and put cleanup tools and bags away.
Check that your gate closes properly after furniture or supplies are carried in. Make sure guests know which entrance to use and who is responsible for the dog. A simple household plan is more dependable than assuming every visitor will notice the latch.
After the gathering: restore the routine
Remove dropped items and return toys and furniture to their normal places. Check the dog-use area, secure the gate, and resume the usual pickup schedule.
If a yard reset would take one job off your event list, check your ZIP and request a cleanup quote. Share the event date so the team can confirm what is possible.
